Death of a Rabbit
We had a death in the family the other night. We're still not sure exactly what happened but our dear rabbit Pooh Bear got sick and very listless. (Our other rabbit Stewie is still alive and doing well.) Hubby brought him in and I tried to get him to perk up but to no avail. He had several seizures or spasms before he finally passed away. There's really no words that can describe watching the life just seep out of him and the "dead" look that came over his eyes. It was just so very sad and I can't really find the words to describe how I feel. I always loved how Pooh Bear was friendlier than Stewie and would let me pet him any 'ol time. Rest in peace, Mister Pooh Bear.

When I was young I had Rabbits and finally figured out that I was giving them lettuce from the store that had pesticides on the leaf, so be sure to wash them good. You probably already know this but I had to tell you of my expeierience.
ReplyDeleteMy kids always wanted to have a rabbit. It's hard when you are attached to a pet, and it passes away...
ReplyDeleteMolly, I had never considered that - thanks for commenting!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I agree. We have chickens, rabbits, ducks and a turkey and even though they're not "pets" like dogs & cats are, they still have personalities and the kids really like them.
Awww, how sad... Poor Stewie is going to be lonely now by himself...
ReplyDeleteThanks for following me! I'm following you back!
