This week's Better Mom Monday post talked about priorities. You should really go read the whole post because it's great - at the end of it, though the author concluded with this:
My motto this year is: Do a few things well. Or, put another way, Do fewer things and do them better.Hmmm, much food for thought. I feel like I'm making progress with my resolutions for this year. Monday I started my Hello Mornings challenge and did wonderful! I'm just taking it a little bit at a time because I have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew - so I woke up at 7:45, took a little while to get myself woken up, headed into the living to start my Bible Study and everything went swimmingly from there. Today...not so much. I woke up late and was feeling icky so I skipped my Bible Study - and consequently, my whole day has been off! Definitely have to get back into the groove tomorrow. Consistency is key for me and keeping my priorities fresh in my mind. Ideally, I would like my priorities to be in this order ~ I'm calling them The Six M's:
We can’t do it all ladies, so why not focus on doing our top priorities well? Doing things well takes time. Again, don’t underestimate how much time it really does take!
"With our pitchers we attempt sometimes to water a field, not a garden." -Anne Morrow Lindbergh
To do this week: Determine what your garden is, and water it well.
My Father's Child: Working on my relationship with God and making sure I get Bible time each morning. Keeping his Word in my heart and focusing on the good things he's blessed me with.
Mrs. Addison: Being the best helpmeet I can be to that handsome hubby of mine!
Momma: Teaching, playing with, and loving my kiddos and ejoying every minute of motherhood.
Mrs. Happy Housekeeper: Keeping my home organized and clean. Well, as clean as it can get with sticky fingers and snotty noses around.
My Family & Friends Go-To: Available to my extended family and my friends with a listening ear, shoulder to cry on, able body to work or hands to hold.
Mrs. Everything Else: Sharing positivity and God's word with others, bloggity blogging, devouring books, writing - guest posts and in publications, my childbirth education interests, crafty crafting, homeschool co-oping, futile attempts at sewing, my geeky interests, church, trying to become a better cook, playgroups, movies and TV, Pink Spa consulting, Facebooking, Twittering, Pinteresting and everything else that I have (or choose to put) on my plate - because I'm sure I missed a few things.
I'm always interested in other people's thoughts & ideas - where do your priorities lie?
