Influenster College VoxBox

I recently joined Influenster which is similar to a few other websites I am a part of. They're a free-to-join community of invited trendsetters who give opinions of products and experiences - they create links between brands and members to reward participation and influence future products. I was chosen to receive their 2012 College VoxBox. (A VoxBox is a box chock full of goodies that Influensters are sent based on the Expert Badges they have unlocked on the website and a survey on individual demographics.) I'm not a college student so I was initially a little surprised to hear that I was getting this! Here are my thoughts on the products I was given and more information about them:

Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure
Broadway Nails / @BwayNails / #impressmanicure
I'll start off by saying that I'm not a gal who wears fake nails. I'm honestly lucky if I find time to paint my fingernails or get a manicure every six months or so. BUT I did wear fake nails occasionally "back in the day" and I have to say that these were pretty fun. The imPRESS box included 24 nail covers in 12 sizes, packaged in a cute bottle that looked like nail polish, and easy to use instructions with a "prep pad" & little file to prepare and then file them. I got a funky leopard print with a little bit of sparkle called "Starstruck." It's pretty neat to just be able to peel and put on a great looking manicure. I liked that they weren't super long or gaudy but unfortunately they didn't stay on well. I had a few of them flip off or break but that could be because I use my hands a lot during the day - opening things, chasing after kids, cooking, cleaning, etc. They were pretty easy to remove and didn't damage my real nails any. I could see them being nice for someone who wears fake nails pretty regularly. These are available for $5.99 for colors and $7.99 for patterns.

NYC New York Color Show Time Glitter Eyeliner
Although I don't wear makeup every day, it is something I like and that I feel I'm pretty knowledgeable about. (My Mom was an Avon lady for YEARS, I was an Avon lady for awhile, I took a few online beauty classes, and of course I've done my own makeup research for myself on the products I wear.) I received this eyeliner in shade 944 - Show Time Black. It was a pretty dark shade of black with just a hint of glitter. I'm a huge fan of glitter but also know that it can be overkill - however this product applied just the right amount. It went on very smoothly, which is always a plus - I've tried eyeliners before that were like using dried up pencils! It worked better for me as a eyeliner for the top lid, rather the bottom where it seemed to smudge more. These are very cheap (just a little over $2) and I could easily see them becoming a staple in my makeup bag.

Necco Tropical Wafers
Tropical Necco Wafers / @NeccoWafers / #TropicalWafers
Time for some more honesty - I didn't think I was going to like these. When I opened the package I thought hmm, they look like big round Rolaids or Tums! While they were slightly chalky, I was pleasantly surprised by the different fruity flavors - Coconut, Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Lime, Banana, and Mango. I didn't like Mango or Passion Fruit but I liked all the rest. Strawberry was my favorite. They are rather hard so I suggest just enjoying them & letting them dissolve rather than trying to crunch them up - unless you have strong teeth. They remind me a little of the Valentine candy hearts, only less chalky. They are very cheap price-wise (just $1.25 each) and if you're really a fan you can also buy them by the box or tub.

Sheets Energy Strips
Sheets / @Sheets / #TakeASheet
Although I would love to have more energy and tell you more about this product, I honestly cannot say anything about these. I'm currently pregnant so I can't use them - and even if I wasn't, I have a minor (very minor) heart condition so I do not use any energy boosting products. I apologize for the inconvenience. I can tell you that they are little sheets (that look similar to those breath mint strips) that dissolve on your tongue and that they're $5.95 per pack of 10 sheets. Pentel EnerGel-X
We use pens a lot - who doesn't? I do daily - writing down assignments we've completed, filling out our attendance sheet, writing a grocery list or reminder to myself, leaving a note for the hubby - I'm sure you do a lot of those same things. I've found that some pens just aren't as good as others...but this is an excellent pen. It is a gel pen with a nice grip. I did a lot of doodling and writing in my planner and found that it writes smoothly and easily. It dries quickly too so no worries about smudging. I tried it on several different kinds of paper and didn't have any bleed-through either. I would definitely purchase one (or more!) of these. They retail for $1.90 per pen.

Disclaimer: I received each product listed above from Influenster in exchange for my review/opinions.
