Baby Zac had his nine month checkup last week. He's had a little bit of a bug the past day or two (hence why this post is just now going up) and has had a low grade fever at night, been fussy/not wanting to sleep, had a few not so pleasant diapers - but he seems to be on the mend now. I'm not sure if it was a virus or maybe something I ate that didn't agree with him but today has been better.
Anyway, the pediatrician said he made her job much too easy. :) He met all his developmental goals, aside from "waving goodbye" but he does flap his arms and is starting to learn how to "give fives" so I'm not worried about it. No shots this time, minus the flu shot, but we didn't get it. He weighs 20 pounds and is 27 & 1/2 inches long. He's wearing 9-12 month clothes (leaning more towards 12!) and is a busy little bee. He crawls, scoots, pulls up, cruises around furniture while holding on, has been standing unassisted, and has taken one "official" step. He says 3 words - mama, dada, and bubba - along with a multitude of other nonsensical jabbering. He loves to growl, especially at other people. He is a keen observer. Whenever we go somewhere new, he is (usually) very quiet and observant, just taking it all in - unless we've been there a lot, then he's ready to explore. He's an expert table clearer and can make messes super fast. Case in point: while I was typing this up, he pulled the stuff off of a bottom shelf and emptied what was left of a box of Cheerios.
I guess I had better wrap this up and get to cleaning. But before I go, here is Mister Zac last week right before we went out into his first snow. I got him all bundled up in layers with his teddy bear suit. He didn't really care about the snow but the other kiddos had fun. :)
