First off, tell me a little about yourself, your blog and family.
I
have been married to my husband who is my best friend for 19 years. We
have four children ages 14, 13, 9, and 8. I've been homeschooling all
along. I began my blog to share about our homeschooling with friends and
family. I've been blogging for about 5 or 6 years now.
Why did you start blogging? Has that changed any since you started?
I
first began blogging to share with my friends and family about what we
were doing in our homeschool. My social media experiences began as a
member of a homeschooling web board, and I loved reading the blogs of
others to glean information.
Over
the years my focus has changed because I'm not the new homeschooling
mom anymore. I'm the older, more experienced mom. Now I see blogging as a
great vehicle to give information and encouragement to other
homeschoolers.
What do you blog about the most? (Feel free to list topics/subjects or go into more detail)
I
blog the most about homeschooling. I post ideas. I post information
about things we've been doing in our homeschool. I post resources. Every
once in a while I also post about homemaking. And I will list free or
frugal resources. I do reviews for homeschooling products and
occasionally for some homemaking products. And I have a blog devoted
solely to book reviews that I link to every once in a while.
How did you decide on the name of your blog?
How did you decide on the name of your blog?
I
actually called the blog The Courtney Six first. That's always been our
family nickname. I changed it to match the theme verse of our
homeschool Duet. 6:4-6 -4 “Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your Godwith all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 You
shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when
you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down
and when you rise up.
What are your top 3-4 posts, and why?
What are your top 3-4 posts, and why?
Okay. This was hard. I picked a few from this past year, but it's hard for me to pick favorites. :-)
For
two years I've participated in the Virtual Curriculum Fair. I love this
link up because it is always so fun for me to see what things others
are using and liking. I linked to the first post from last year.
"I'm Gonna Miss This Sometimes" was a post I wrote about how quickly the homeschool days pass.
"No
More Perfect Kids" was part of the Hearts at Home blog hop series this
year. I really loved this one because I shared a favorite story from my
early mama days.
Why do you blog? What is your blogs purpose?
