5 Minute Real Mom Makeup Tutorial

My stepdaughter and I were talking the other day about makeup tutorials - we watched one on YouTube of a lady who had her husband do the voice over of what products she was using and it was pretty darn funny. I ended up watching a few more and it amazed me how talented some of the people were and how much time some of them had! I got to thinking about what it's like when I'm getting ready here - usually it's in the morning before the kids have gotten up but occasionally they're already up and it's very...interesting!

So I decided to make my own video! I didn't have the best lighting and there's interruptions - children knocking my camera over and trying to tell me stories - but that's what makes it very true to life. It took about 10 minutes total but I sped it up and if I wasn't filming it would have taken less time. It's a simple, natural look and what I usually do most days that I wear makeup. (I don't wear it every day.) So without further ado, here's a makeup video from a real life momma, interruptions & all!

Here are the products I used with links if they were available and my own notes on them:

Brushes - Essence of Beauty Foundation & Concealer Brush, Avon Dual Ended Eyeshadow Brush, e.l.f. Blending Eye Brush, Avon Blush Brush (link is to a very similar one)

Primers - Moodstruck Minerals Younique Eye Primer, Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer (Several years ago my mom and I went to a mall where Laura Mercier makeup artists were visiting and for fun I got a makeover done. The artist that did my makeup that day introduced me to foundation primer and I've used it ever since then. It really gives your face a smooth start and helps your foundation stay put. As for the eye primer, my Aunt just recently started selling Younique and I thought the primer it sounded interesting because my eye makeup always seemed to wear off by the end of the day. I've been wearing it for about a week and a half and it's pretty amazing!)

Foundation - Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Makeup - Ivory and Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Nude (I've been mixing these two and like the resulting color.)

Concealer - Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact SPF 20 - Nude (Although this is technically a foundation, I use it as a concealer. I don't even think they make this on it's own any more but you might be able to find it in a palette/combination kit.)

Eyeshadow - Sephora The Graceful Palette - #8, 15, and 16 (Originally $48 - I got it on sale after Christmas for $14!)

Blush - Nars Blush

Mascara - Benefit They're Real Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara (My fave! I tried this several years ago and have never used another.)

Lip LinerUlta Contour Lip Liner - Rustic (This is a medium pinkish rose with a matte finish. I got several of these lip liners when they had a BOGO sale and they are really long lasting.)

Lip Gloss - Buxom Full-On Lip Polish - Clair (I discovered Buxom a few years ago and now it's is the only lip gloss I wear. I love the finish of it and the tingly feeling it leaves. This one is a starry plum color with a shimmer finish.)
