Crockpot Sloppy Joes

We went to a graduation party last year and they had the most delicious sloppy joes for the main course! I asked my friend what her secret was and she mentioned Sweet Baby Ray's - a staple in our house thanks to my eldest son's obsession with it - so I began Googling different recipes and experimenting. The recipe that follows is what I found to be the best combination of ingredients. Enjoy!

Crockpot Sloppy Joes

1 onion, chopped (I like to use red onion but white is good too!)
1 green pepper, chopped
3-4 teaspoons minced garlic
Splash of oil
Cracked black pepper
3 pounds ground beef
1 cup ketchup
1 1/2 cup Sweet Baby Rays barbecue sauce
3 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1 Tablespoon water

Cook onion and pepper in oil in a skillet for about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic, ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until hamburger is browned/cooked thoroughly. Drain and let cool slightly. Add to crockpot with all remaining ingredients and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
